Bikini Atoll was used for later thermonuclear tests as well, Operation Castle detonating 7 weapons for a total of 75 megatons. The Bravo test of the "shrimp" device was projected to be 6 megatons and was actually 15mT , causing extensive radiological damage to the surrounding area. The intense thermal flash ignited a fire at a distance of 20 nautical miles on the island of Eneu (base island of Bikini Atoll). Then we made a bunch more of those bastards.
